Chaumiere du Prairie, David Meade's Old Kentucky Home
Chaumiere du Praire, the Jessamine County Plantation of David Meade, II, was a beautiful home. Visitors from all over the world were entertained at Chaumiere. The Meades entertained the likes of General Lafayette, Aaron Burr, and Henry Clay. They insisted that no one call ahead to say they were coming. The Meades and Chaumiere were always ready for any visit.
