About me: His Anthony E. Gallo is a playwright whose copyrighted, published, workshopped, and produced works include Margherita, Eugenio, Better than the Best, Solomon, Vandergrift!, Lincoln and God, the Agony of David and Charleston Revisited. Screenplays in progress include The Beech Forest, Apart, and The Eastern Market. His drama portfolio consists of nearly fifty works.
The year 2009 will see fourteen stagings of Mr. Gallo's play, including two productions. He is working on one new play and four new screenplays, revising two existing dramas, and composing one new musical. He is directing two of his own dramas, and the Seventh Street Playhouse will have a total of ten projects in the works, In 2008, Mr. Gallo had eleven stagings, and gave five theatrical lectures.
New Theatre Publications in Great Britain published Margherita in January 2009, and Lincoln and God and Vandergrift! are scheduled for release in the spring by the same company. All of his works have been published by either New Theatre Publications or Browns Court Publishing Company.
Mr. Gallo is chief executive officer of the Seventh Street Playhouse-LLC in Washington. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild in New York and the Senior Moments Theatre in Washington. He is an alumnus of the Playwrights Forum in Washington.
His plays have been performed in Washington, DC, New York City, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Stage venues include: The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Universalist Stage, Cosmos Theatre, Playwrights Forum, New York University, Casa Italiana, Peter Marshall Stage at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Capital Fringe/ Woolley Mammoth Theatre, Capital Fringe/ Universalist Stage, Silver Spring Stage/PF, Where Eagles Dare Theatre(NYC), The National Press Club, The Arts Club of Washington, New York International Midtown Festival/Dorothy Strelsin Stage, Abingdon Theatre (NYC), The New Kensington Civic Theatre, St. John's Church(MD), The Corner Store Stage on Capitol Hill, Seventh Street Playhouse, Casino Theatre, St. Mary Armenian Church, The Dramatists Guild of America.
Through participation in forums, seminars, and classes over the past decade, he has the equivalent of a Bachelor of Arts degree in playwriting
My interests: His hobbies include reading, historic preservation, bridge, swimming and bicycling. He is an avid ballroom dancer. He is an army veteran.
