Jacob Nutter, mariner and privateer in the American Revolution was captured and sent to the infamous Mill Prison in England. After 2 years he was exchanged and sent to France where he enlisted as quartermaster on the American frigate Alliance. As part of a flotilla under the command of John Paul Jones, Nutter participated in the famous battle with HMS Serapis. This journal, although fictional is written from Nutter's perspective describing the trials faced by he and his mates; based on actual historical documents and first hand journals.
