The descendants of William Newton Hall and Susan Elizabeth Woods. Our farthest-back ancestor was John Hall of Perth (Perthshire) Scotland, who was a 'town sergeant'. In the 1700's he came to the USA on the brigantine 'Freemason', settling in the Craven District of Charleston, S.C. In 1769 his son, John Washington Hall was born there, and our story begins in 1795, when John Hall's grandson, George Hiram Hall, was born near Charleston.
