Former Western New York regular trainer/driver Ray Schnittker found his old stomping grounds to his liking on Sunday afternoon at Buffalo Raceway as he steered home three winners, two of which he trained, during the New York State Sire Stakes and Excelsior Series. Ray Schnittker tripled Sunday Schnittker was aboard The Lindy Treaty as he drove home the two-year-old trotter to the victory in the $37,862 division in a track-tying mark for that level in 2:01.2. The time ties the mark set last season by Timothy Patrick. The Lindy Treaty, trained by Schnittker,  beat runnerup General Bill Brown (Victor Kirby) by four lengths. Also, Schnittker posted two wins in the $12,800 Excelsior Series races, taking Bosak and JL Cruze to the winner's circle. In the other $38,862 Sire Stakes divisions, Chris Lems won both of them with Izzy Jokin (2:05.2) and My Friend Charlie (2:01.3). Truman Gale scored the other win in the $12,800 as he drove and trained Someway Samehall to the victory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It was a great week for driver Shawn McDonough as he nine wins during the week to highlight the action. McDonough had a triple on Wednesday and followed that up with doubles on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The race for the driver's title is still red-hot as Ray Fisher Jr. maintained a narrow two-win lead over John Cummings Jr. Fisher Jr. had a double on Wednesday and a triple on Saturday to push his seasonal total to 138 ...
