The Potter -- Indigenous Mexican Pottery
An interview with María López López of Amatenango del Valle, Chiapas, southern Mexico. Amatenango is a village of Tzotzil-speaking Indians twenty miles southeast of San Cristóbal de Las Casas. María produces primitive clay pieces using local clay she digs herself. She fires in a heap of firewood and sells locally. There is a picture of María with some of her creations.
