SWORD OF TULKAR AND OTHER WRITINGS ON ANCIENT BRITAIN AND IRELAND is a collection of two short stories and 10 poems set in the long gone era of the Ancestors.  In SWORD OF TULKAR, a young woman at the end of the British Bronze Age finds her village burned by new invaders, the Horseheads. She is befriended by the mysterious smith, Tulkar, who lives in a remote cave with his large family, a hoard of metal objects--and the half buried remains of the old Matriarch of his people. He makes a sword for girl, Ardagh, then vanishes, leaving her alone to find her way in a land of burial cairns and stone circles, of spirits and ancestors. And one comes to her aid--the spirit of old Ourar, buried in the smith's cave. With her spirit guardian guiding her, Ardagh learned both sword-arts and courage, and eventually confronts the leader of the Horsehead clan--the Queen Rianona with her sword of the new, cold star-metal...iron.
