There have always been folks who abuse, misuse and abandon animals, including horses, but hard times have hit the equine world to the extent that people who otherwise would not do such a thing have been forced to leave horses behind on farms and ranches lost due to bank foreclosure.  Horses fend for themselves for days or even weeks before someone realizes their plight and calls local animal shelters or rescue agencies.  Find in this ring sites dedicated to telling their stories, effecting rescues and even exposing the bad guys (they're still out there, too).

Working to become a resource for all horse owners. We want to educate the public & law enforcement in each KS County of the proper way a healthy horse looks compared to a sick or mal-nourished horse. This type of education would allow deputies to make a more educated & informed decision when called out on a neglect case. With education we can help owners realize the significance of having a healthy & happy equine.
